Gold miner Newmont Mining Corp. (NEM) reported Friday a profit for the second quarter that edged up from last year, boosted by sales growth amid higher gold prices. Meanwhile, adjusted earnings per share and quarterly revenues missed analysts’ expectations. However, the company boosted its dividend by 50 percent.
