GBP/USD: Trading the Advance 3Q U.K. GDP Report

Economic activity in the U.K. is expected to expand at a faster pace in the third-quarter, and a positive GDP report should prop up the British Pound as it encourages an improved outlook for the region.


AltaGas To Acquire Pacific Northern Gas For C$230 Mln – Update

Energy infrastructure company AltaGas Ltd. (ALA.TO) said Monday it has agreed to acquire Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (PNG.TO), an operator of natural gas transmission and distribution systems, for C$36.75 or $36.08 per share in cash. The transaction is worth about C$230 million, including assumption of about C$85 million of debt and C$5 million preferred shares. Following the news, shares of PNG.TO are gaining more than 20 percent.


Bauer Cuts FY11 Outlook Citing Disruptions At Construction Segment

Bauer AG (BRAGF.PK), a German provider of services, machinery and ancillary products, on Monday lowered its earnings and revenue outlook for fiscal 2011, citing disruptions particularly at its construction segment due to project delays and the crisis in the Middle East. This is the second time the company has lowered its full-year outlook in a span of two months.
